Subject Appropriate

• Subject of photo should be a person working in an animal industry career.

Technical

• Focus-Appropriate distance setting to properly define subject or center of interest.
• Exposure and Contrast – Quality of light allowed to act on image for effect.
• Balance and Color – Proper definition, balance and color management
• Resolution – Appropriate for final output (web)

Composition

• Arrangement-Clear placement of subject (Rule of thirds).
• Elements – Main subject, foreground background, supporting elements in good balance.
• Framing/Cropping – Good use of editing technique and documentation or modifications.

Creativity/Artistic Quality

• Impact – Clearly capture’s viewer’s attention.
• Uniqueness – Originality, camera angle, lighting, character study, interpretation of subject.
• Story-telling Ability – Image and caption combine to deliver photographer’s message.
