Job Title: Aquarium Supervisor at an Aquarium
Description: Supervise employees assigned to work area. Develop weekly and daily work assignments. Assist in training, oversight and discipline of subordinates. Observe animal health of assigned collection and report all observations to Curator and or Veterinarian. Prepare written reports as directed. Perform or supervise veterinary treatments as directed by Curator or Veterinarian. Perform zookeeper duties as required. Assist in maintenance, operations and education functions of zoo as necessary. Responsible for all aspects of aquarium husbandry. This includes but is not limited to maintaining exhibit aesthetics; water quality and life support systems, establishing appropriate feeding regimes, recommending and obtaining appropriate specimens for the collection plan, observations on animal health and application of appropriate treatments or actions, exhibit design and installation, maintaining support areas, and ensuring that all records are up to date and complete. Inspect and evaluate the conditions of exhibits and life support to determine and /or participate in necessary repairs and modifications. Also participate in diving demonstrations, train new divers, and give public presentations when needed.
Degree Required: BS
